USA standards
Building codes are regulated by state and city. A common US specification would be:
For the main bathroom the CFM exhaust shall not be less than 110. at a noise level no higher than 1.5 sones. For each additional bathroom the fan shall be 50-70 CFM @ 1.5 sones.
Canada standards
Building code is a national standard administered by local jurisdictions. A common specification in Canada is a main bathroom fan of 80 CFM or higher @ 1.0 sone. For each additional bathroom fan, the fan shall be 50-70 CFM with no sone standard. |
